ExifRenamer is a tool for renaming digital photos, movie- and audio-clips of almost every camera vendor. The program turns the cryptic file names usually assigned by digital cameras into meaningful dates which allows chronologic sorting in the finder and a quick overview of your taken photos. ExifRenamer features a lot of useful automatic and interactive features to help digital photographers organizing their photos. The tool can perfectly be used as auto-action for Apple's ImageCapture - it automatically renames the new downloaded pictures without a single mouse click. What's New: Version 2.0.1 adds the following: In the German localization was a mistake which made the use of "Delete Files" almost impossible. Argh. Fixed. The NameGenerator didn't cut the path of the filenames. %?U, %o and %O keys were broken because of this. Bug found by Kee Hinckley. Thanks Kee! Changed FileModificationDate to FileCreationDate as date source when no Exif date is available. Makes much more sense. Thanks to Gilbert Lauvergnier for this hint! Fixed a problem with non US-ASCII characters like URsO... Should have seen that myself as being from Germany (where we use additionally n?R-I--) but... well... blindness everywhere... ;-) Thanks to Gilbert again for showing me the problem! Found a bug in the NameGenerator which could stop ExifRenamer from creating names when identical folders or files are in the same directory. Fixed. Files and folders beginning its file names with a dot ('.') which are invisible are now ignored (they were ignored before, too but the progress bar didn't reflect this). ExifRenamer now stores the prefix/suffis and preview setting of the file/folder name confirm dialogs. Thanks to Frank Homann for this suggestion! Improved the FileMove Error-Output ExifRenamer did increase the file sequence counter also for the ..thm file when it was renamed together with a .crw file. Fixed.
